Meeting Minutes
March 1, 2010
The Fowler Township Board of Trustees met in regular session in the Fowler Township Community Center on March 1, 2010 at 7:30pm. Member present were Alby Crabbs, Tom Carr and Jeffrey Davis. The meeting was opened with the pledge to the flag. Meeting minutes were read and approved from last meeting.
FIRE REPORT Fire Chief Fred Yungbluth reported 30 runs, 10 transports, 138 men responding with 183 man hours and 20 hours of training for the month of February 2010. Chief Yungbluth announced that Fowler Township was awarded a $25,000 FEMA Grant for the purchase of a life pack for Squad #23. He also reported that FF Sweeny has gone for his physical, his 36 hour FF training starts March 16. FF Peigowski will also attend training. Discussion followed on the training requirements.
RESOLUTION 24-2010 PAY-PER-CALL/TRAINING PAY Albert Crabbs
motioned to pay $1348.75 for February 2010 pay per call as submitted by

ZONING REPORT Nancy Shook reported issuing no permits in March, 2010. Her report was then discussed. Nancy sent registered letters to Carlisle and lien holders for said property, informing them of pending property demolition. The same for Betts property. Nancy is to check with Trumbull County Planning Commission to get information describing the difference between double wide trailers and modular homes and approved foundations for them.
POLICE REPORT Chief Mike Currington reported 19 calls, 3 arrests 7 assists, 16 traffic warnings with 7 citations in the month of February, 2010. Chief reported that the new cruiser is at the shop getting decals.
RESOLUTION 25-2010 PAYMENTS Tom Carr motioned to pay Red diamond
Uniform $227.96 for Officer Smith’s uniform. Purchase and payment of
$94.98 for 1000 temp tattoos from Baseline Printing, money from the third
grade seat program. Payment of $170.00 to send Officer Lohry to the
Calibre Press Street Survival Seminar at Thiel College. Payment of
$100.00 to send Officer Sable to Police Grant Writing Class given by

RESOLUTION 26-2010 REY COLLAZO Tom Carr motioned to hire Rey Collazo, as
a probationary, part time officer with the recommendation of Chief
Currington. He is currently an officer with Warren Township. Albert Crabbs

RESOLUTION 27-2010 JAG GRANT Albert Crabbs motioned to approve application
for Justice Assistance Grant (JAG)in the amount of $20,000 for crime
prevention. If approved, Fowler Township would be responsible for 10%. Jeff

ROAD DEPARTMENT
RESOLUTION 28-2010 DUMP TRUCK Jeff Davis motioned to purchase a 2011, gas
F350, full size, 4WD, Dump Truck with Snow Plow Package through the State
Purchasing Program for the amount of $$33,347.00. With an estimated delivery

Pat Arnal requested that Trustees consider paving the large north loop in new section of Dugan’s Cemetery when financially possible.
RESOLUTION 29-2010 MEMORIAL DAY DONATION Albert Crabbs motioned to
approve payment of $500.00 to be sent to the Memorial Day Society to help
defray costs of Memorial Day Parade and Services. Tom Carr 2nd. Roll

David Cover from the Historical Society announced that they will be having an Evening in the park on Friday July 23, 2010.
Steven Rudge voiced concern over the closing of Neal School and whether the trustees and the School have considered Long term zoning issues that could arise with an abandoned building in Fowler Township. Trustees said they were assured by Superintendent Lee Sieple that the building would be maintained and secured.
RESOLUTION 30-2010 BRUSH TRUCK Albert Crabbs motioned to contact Back-
Bidder and offer truck for $13,000.00 with extra parts. If Back Bidder not
interested, relist the 1964 Dodge Power Wagon on E BAY, with a starting bid

Trustee Jeff Davis had questions about the Dare Program in Fowler. Discussion followed.
Fiscal Officer is to contact Ohio Edison for a cost on a street light on the corner of Kings Graves Rd. and Sodom-Hutchings Rd. Pat will provide details for placementof light.
Alby Crabbs is attending March 10th meeting at the Trumbull County Board of health.
