Meeting Minutes
July 6, 2009
The Fowler Township Board of Trustees met in regular session in the Fowler Township Community Center on July 6, 2009 at 7:30pm. Member present were Alby Crabbs, Tom Carr and Jim Haun. Tom Carr opened the meeting with the pledge to the flag. Meeting minutes were read and approved from last meeting.
FIRE REPORT Chief Yungbluth reported 26 runs, 88 men responding, 134 man hours with 36 training hours for the month of June, 2009. Chief discussed a burning complaint with the Trustees. EPA had been at the property, and is handling matter. Chief Yungbluth would however like to contact Atty. Finamore about some open burning regulation questions that have arose. He reported an accident with Engine #23 that resulted in the damaging of two strobe lights.
RESOLUTION 58-2009 PURCHASES Albert Crabbs motioned to approve purchase
and payment for Anti Virus protection (3 computers for 2 years) at a total

RESOLUTION 59-2009 PURCHASES Jim Haun motioned to approve hiring Russell
Schimidt for Fire and EMS Duty Crew on the recommendation of the

RESOLUTION 60-2009 MAY PAY PER CALL Tom Carr motioned to pay June 2009
Pay Per Call as submitted by Chief, total payments equaling $945.00.

POLICE REPORT Chief Mike Currington was present and reported 29 calls, 2 arrests, 6 assists, 18 traffic warnings with 9 citations for the month of June. Chief Currington submitted invoices to fiscal officer. He asked for ODJFS paperwork concerning former employee be faxed to Atty. Mark Finamore.
ZONING REPORT Nancy Shook reported that no permits were issued in the month of June, 2009. Her report to the Trustees was reviewed and discussed. Issues with junk cars in yards and if a car is of historic value, or not. Nancy reported that there is still an ongoing issue with grass cutting on Everett Hull.
ROAD DEPARTMENT Pat Arnal reported that the Edward Evans family had questions concerning lots owned by the family in the old section of Dugans Cemetery. Pat and Jim Haun will discuss with family and get new deeds issued to avoid confusion later.
Fiscal Officer is to research cemetery costs in surrounding area, as to review if Fowler needs to revise our current costs.
Mrs. Carol Cross thanked the trustees for help with dust problem on her property. Trees have been planted and the EPA is monitoring the business.
RESOLUTION 61-2009 VETERANS BONUS INITIATIVE Tom Carr motioned to
adopt a resolution supporting the Veterans Bonus Initiative that will be on
the ballot in November, 2009. Albert Crabbs 2nd. Jim Haun, Yes. Albert

RESOLUTION 62-2009 FREE CARNIVAL DONATION Jim Haun motioned to
approve sending a donation for $500.00 to the Fowler Community Church,
funds to help finance the free carnival, open to public. Also to post said
carnival information on the Township Sign. Tom Carr 2nd. Jim Haun, Yes.

RESOLUTION 63-2009 FLOWERS IN CENTER Tom Carr motioned to approve
purchase of Black eyed Susan’s, however many necessary, to plant in front
of Township sign. Cost not to exceed $100.00. Jim Haun 2nd. Jim Haun,
