Meeting Minutes
January 4, 2010
The Fowler Township Board of Trustees met in regular session in the Fowler Township Community Center on January 4, 2010 at 7:30pm. Member present were Alby Crabbs, Tom Carr and Jeffrey Davis. The meeting was opened with the pledge to the flag. Meeting minutes were read and approved from last meeting.
FIRE REPORT Fire Chief Fred Yungbluth reported 31 runs, 15 transports, 142 men responding with 175 man hours and 33 hours of training for the month of December 2009.
RESOLUTION 11-2010 PURCHASES Tom Carr motioned to approve payment of
$25.00 to the Trumbull County Fire Chiefs Association for 2010 dues.

RESOLUTION 12-2010 PAY-PER-CALL Tom Carr motioned to pay $1061.25 for
December 2009 pay per call as submitted by Chief. Albert Crabbs 2nd.

RESOLUTION 13-2010 NEW FIREFIGHTERS Albert Crabbs motioned to approve
sending 3 fire fighters for physicals on the approval of the fire chief.

Chief reported that Doug Elser is working on Engine #23. Fire House needs a new Fax machine. 2009 FEMA Grant is 5 months behind. 2010 grant he’d like to go for a brush truck replacement with an estimated cost of $135,000.00. $6750.00 or 5% is the townships cost or a compression filling station at a cost of $60,000.00, townships cost of 5%, being approximately $3000.00. Ron Thompson is helping with the grant writing this year. Discussion followed on the necessity of a brush truck.
ZONING REPORT Nancy Shook reported issuing 1 permit for the month of December, 2009. Her report was then discussed. Tom Carr asked to be called immediately after discussing questions concerning demolition of several homes with Attorney Mark Finnamore. Nancy will be attending a meeting at the Liberty Administration office on the 20th of January.
POLICE REPORT Chief Mike Currington reported 42 calls, 2 arrests 11 assists, 17 traffic warnings with 3 citations in the month of December 2009.
RESOLUTION 14-2010 PURCHASES Albert Crabbs motioned to approve the
purchase and payment for 10 training taser cartridges at a cost of $18.95 each.
Approval to sell the Beretta handgun and Mosseberg shotgun to an arms
dealer to offset department expenses, such as ammunition, taser cartridges, ect.

ROAD DEPARTMENT Pat Arnal reported that the light at the pump is not working. He needs 8’ florescent tubes for Fire Station.
RESOLUTION 15-2010 ELECTRICAL WORK AND PURCHASES Albert Crabbs
motioned to hire Doug Johnson to repair the light at the pump, light in the
Chapel at Dugan’s Cemetery, repair the mercury vapor light on the west side of
the Methodist Church parking lot. Cost not to exceed $500.00. Fiscal Officer
will check prices of 8’light bulbs on line, if less expensive than Handyman
Hardware, clerk will purchase what Pat needs. Tom Carr 2nd. Roll

Trustee Jeffrey Davis is writing to County Commissioners about a speed study for Sodom-Hutchings Rd. and Ridge Rd. Discussion about needing a replacement for Zoning Commission to fill Jeff Davis position. Also we need Mr. Walter Trumbull to schedule a public hearing date for the Zoning Commission regarding changes to the Zoning Resolution Book.
All Department inventories need turned into Fiscal Officer to be sent to Auditor. Job performance evaluations need completed by Department Heads and Trustees.
